2 Years at Microsoft: A Journey of Learning and Adventure

Wow, has it really been 2 years since I joined Microsoft? Time flies by so fast! It has been an incredible experience working at this company, and I am grateful for every opportunity I have had.

As a consultant at Microsoft, my job is to help people solve problems and grow their businesses using Microsoft technology. This has been a challenging and exciting role, and I have learned so much from the people I have worked with. I am proud of the impact I have been able to make and the relationships I have built.

One of the best parts about working at Microsoft is the flexibility it gives me. I work from home, which gives me a good balance between my work and personal life. I have also had the chance to travel for work, visiting customers in North Carolina, Florida, South Carolina, and California.

In South Carolina, I was able to go aboard a Naval ship for the first time. It was absolutely huge and so fascinating. Below is a picture of me at the shipyard in South Carolina where the USNS Patuxent was docked.

During my trip to California, I took some time to visit Muir Woods National Park, which was breathtaking.

Over the past two years, I have not only been able to make a difference at work, but I have also been able to further my education. I am proud to say that I have finally earned my Bachelor’s degree! In addition to expanding my knowledge, I have also had to expand my skills. I started out focusing only on SQL Server, but over the past 2 years, I have worked with Terraform, Bicep, Power BI, and Azure Infrastructure.

The biggest blessing of working at Microsoft is the network I am building. Some of the smartest and brightest people work here, and I am honored to learn and connect with them. Their expertise and passion for technology inspire me to keep growing and making a positive impact. The biggest thing I learned was stepping outside my comfort zone.

I do not know what the future holds in terms of the economy and layoffs, but I will say that I hope to be at Microsoft for a long time.

It’s been an amazing journey so far here at Microsoft and I am looking forward to what the future holds and to continue making a difference in the lives of others through technology.
