I finally presented my first tech at SQL Saturday Sioux Falls and Baton Rouge. I decided to name my session, “Big Data Clusters for the Absolute Beginner” because beginning of 2019 I *was* the absolute beginner (and I’m learning every day!) So in a way, my session is “based on a true story” :) I’m super-excited because I think it’s the future of SQL Server. Big Data Clusters are new and cutting-edge technology.

Abstract
Coming up with the session’s abstract took a while. I wanted to make sure the focus and purpose of the session aligned with not only my excitement for Big Data Clusters, but the future of SQL Server.
So here’s a snippet of the abstract:
Are you a DBA or data professional working with out-dated technology or feel your skills are quickly becoming irrelevant? Stay ahead in today’s ever changing tech space and take your career to the next level.
Intended Audience
As I mention in the abstract, the intended audience is for the DBA who feels like their skills are becoming irrelevant. In a field that churns out new tech what seems like every month it can be hard to keep up. Especially when we’re still working with outdated technology at our jobs.
I recorded the session and uploaded it to my YouTube channel. It is a little condensed as I don’t go into story-telling much (that’s for the lucky in-person attendees :) Check it out and feel free to reach out if you have any questions/comments.

Wow! Thank you for the starter kit!
The wading through the marketing terminology has been ridiculous. You’ve made it so it’s able to be assimilated.
You’re welcome!
